Independence Blue Cross Sponsors Nurse Internship
For the past several years, Independence Blue Cross has provided The Clinic with a summer intern. This year’s intern Karen McLay brought a wealth of experience from a past career as a pharmaceutical representative.
Karen was one of many who had been downsized. Karen made the decision to go back to school to become a nurse and chose Delaware County Community College for its locality and its program.
Her bright smile and willingness to pitch in made the job of our nurse coordinators Anke Delone, R.N. and Anne Haney, C.R.N.P. much easier. Karen set a friendly tone with patients, which made them feel comfortable. Providing for a family of two girls and beginning a new career is very challenging so Karen was thrilled that she would be paid for her services through Independence Blue Cross.
