Volunteers are the heart of The Clinic

The Clinic is a well-established non-profit, a Free and Charitable medical clinic located in Phoenixville, PA. On occasion, we post volunteer opportunities throughout our internet community. We are currently seeking volunteers for the following positions:

Volunteer Primary (Family Practice or Internal Medicine) physicians to provide direct care to our patients at our medical facility in Phoenixville, PA. Licensed and Board Certified or Board Eligible required. We are looking for a time commitment of one-half day (3 hours) on a weekly basis. Our hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. M-F, and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. M-T (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday).

Phlebotomist to obtain, handle, and process patient blood specimens at our medical facility in Phoenixville, PA. Certification required. We are looking for a time commitment of one-half day (3 hours) on a weekly or biweekly basis.

Ophthalmologist or Optometrist to perform office-based procedures at our clinic, including eye exams, prescribing glasses as needed, screening for glaucoma, and other routine eye care. Licensed and Board Certified required. We are looking for a time commitment of one half-day (3 hours) on a bi-weekly basis.

Volunteer Nurses (RN, LPN, MA, CNA) needed to perform clinical duties in a primary care clinical setting. Duties include: assessing the reason for patient visits, taking vital signs, obtaining specimens, setting patients up for procedures, assisting physicians with patient procedures, promoting health education, and restocking exam rooms. Current license, certification, or volunteer nurse’s license required.
Shift options include morning (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. M-F) and afternoon (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. M-T; and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday). Our Nurse Manager works with each volunteer to design a schedule that best fits his or her availability and The Clinic’s needs.

Bilingual Volunteers to assist our native Spanish speaking patients in the following areas:
• Assistance with registration
• Making patient reminder calls and waiting list calls
• Scheduling and confirming appointments
• Assistance with referrals and communication with agencies that can assist patients
• Medical interpretation with doctors and nurses
We are looking for a time commitment of one-half day (3 hours) on a weekly basis. Our hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. M-F, and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. M-T (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. F).

Business Office Volunteer needed to assist Business Office Manager with financial administrative tasks. Tasks will include accounts receivable/accounts payable data entry and filing. Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred.
We are looking for a time commitment of approximately 2-3 hours on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Schedule is very flexible.

Volunteer Grant Writer to assist our Director of Development in researching applicable potential grant opportunities, writing, preparing, and submission of grants within the allotted time frame. We need a volunteer with grant writing experience, strong time management skills, written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to self-motivate and work independently. Public Relations experience helpful.
We are looking for a minimum time commitment of one half-day (3 hours) on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

The Clinic, a non-profit health facility providing quality healthcare to the uninsured, is in need of volunteers.
