The Clinic Announces New Medical Director

PHOENIXVILLE, PA (MARCH 29, 2019) – The Clinic, a nonprofit medical facility serving uninsured patients in the Greater Phoenixville area, is pleased to announce Sissy John, MD, as its new Medical Director. Dr. John comes to The Clinic from Plymouth Meeting Family Medicine, where she has been a family practitioner since 2011. She has experience working with all ages, with a focus on preventative care and chronic care management.
“We are so thrilled to introduce Dr. John as our new Medical Director,” says Lew Osterhoudt, Executive Director of The Clinic. “While we were sad to lose Dr. Spyropoulos when he left to pursue his dream of teaching at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, we are confident that we have found the perfect person to fill his shoes and lead The Clinic into a bright future.”
“The Clinic is a special place filled with the most extraordinarily devoted staff and volunteers,” says Jacki Tully, CRNP, Associate Medical Director. “Our Medical Director needs to be an exceptional person with compassion, empathy and a dedication to treating underserved members of our unique community. We knew immediately that Dr. John was the person we were looking for.”
Through staff and volunteer physicians and nurses, generous donors and community partnerships, The Clinic cared for thousands of patients in 2018. Since opening its doors in 2002 with Dr. Lorna Stuart and Reverend Marie Swayze at the helm, The Clinic has provided over 135,000 patient visits to the community. Along with primary care, the facility offers specialty care, such as pediatrics, cardiology, allergy, gynecology, orthopedics and professional counseling services, in addition to lab tests, diagnostic testing and medications. All services are provided at no cost to the patient.
The Clinic is located at 143 Church Street in Phoenixville. For more information, please visit www.theclinicpa.org.
